Hey Skiers and Boarders!

I am beyond excited to announce my 2018 ski trip to Japan!.  It will check off a major bucket list item for me and hopefully many of you!  This is the first time in the history of the trip (23 years!) that this trip is not on the continent of Europe!  Skiing in Japan will be the most interesting cultural and exotic trip ever! We will be basing ourselves in famous Hakuba which is part of a network that includes twelve villages and two hundred lifts. These villages are very accustomed to westerners while still maintaining their authentic Japanese village vibe.  The Hakuba Valley not only has some of Japan's best skiing, but some of the world's best!  We are in the Nagano ski region where the 1992 Olympic villages took place. Hakuba receives an insane amount of snow averaging nearly 40 feet of fluffy snow each year! To give you perspective, resorts like Park City and Aspen average 25 feet. If you are looking for amazing powder, then this is the place to go! If you just want to ski the groomers then this is the place to go too!
Apres ski will most likely be spent at one of Hakuba's thirty onsens (natural hot springs). Night times we will be eating fantastic Japanese cuisine and drinking local sakis, whiskeys and beers. 

Our ski trips always have the motto of, “Never let skiing get in the way of a good ski trip! " Hakuba might be the perfect location to fit this motto! For those looking for a break or less inclined to ski, there are many opportunities to visit a myriad of historic sights.  You will have the opportunity to spend time away from the ski resort visiting the famous snow monkeys that spend their winters hanging out in the natural hot springs.   We will also have the opportunity to visit the ancient villages of the Nagano area including famous 7th Century Zenkoji Temple.

 KYOTO, JAPAN TRIP EXTENSION 
January 31st  (three nights)
I highly recommend staying on for the three night optional extension to Japan's most famous and most visited ancient city of Kyoto.  Being in Kyoto is like stepping back in time, as it was formerly the Imperial capital of Japan for more than one thousand years. Japan's capital city and the emperor's residence from 794 to 1868, Kyoto is known throughout the world for its stunning beauty.  Tourists are drawn year-round by the majestic palaces, statues, and villas, as well as by the carefully tended gardens.
Kyoto is dedicated to preserving Japan's oldest traditions, yet it is also a dynamic, contemporary city.  Modern conveniences are readily available, making Kyoto a perfect destination for visitors looking to explore Japan's past without sacrificing the comforts of today.  Known as a national dining mecca, Kyoto proudly offers traditional Japanese cuisines, such as sushi, tofu and obanzi (Kyoto home-style fare). 
In addition, shopping is also a unique experience in Kyoto, with merchandise ranging from traditional Japanese crafts made by local artisans to cutting-edge couture.  Among Japan's many assets, Kyoto is one of the most prized, comparable only to the world's most dazzling places.

 Tokyo, Japan

On our last leg of the trip we will take the famous bullet train to Tokyo, Japan, one of the world's greatest cities.  We are fortunate to arrive in Tokyo on Saturday and partake in some of the world's liveliest nightlife and best restaurant scenes! Tokyo is the world’s largest metropolis—home to more than 13 million people. Tokyo’s maze of neighborhoods seems to offer up every imaginable sight and sound—some of them cacophonous and modern (speeding bullet trains; herds of hurrying, be-suited businessmen; bizarrely futuristic toilets), and some of them ancient (Buddhist shrines and temples; the waddling combat of sumo wrestlers). Tokyo has it all.  

Note: Flight schedules make it so everyone will stay at least one night in Tokyo. I will be offering an option to extend your stay in Tokyo for three nights.  This will allow you to experience a lot more of the city and the historic surrounding area.

The pricing for this trip will be in line with our recent trips to Europe.  I am putting the finishing touches on this and soon will be sending you the final details.  As always, single rooms will be limited and in high demand.

Great people and great vibes. If you're looking to get out and meet some people while having fun then Players Sports is for you. There are leagues and tournaments for a bunch of different sports. They run them for all skill levels and you get cool shirts if you win. Also a lot of free promos - they give out a lot of drinks and other stuff. Overall, very fun and very friendly environment.

For the last three years, I have been playing indoor and beach volleyball with Players Sport & Social. They are always exceptional and professional. My favorite part of the leagues is the cadence and the different formats that they offer; whether you want to play Rec vs Competitive or 2s vs 6s - they have it all! They also have referees for all of their indoor leagues, and they are prompt to email requests.
