Fowling Rules

*NEW* Rosters & Waivers Required *NEW*
All players must be listed on the team roster AND must accept & sign the online waiver to be allowed to play. Captains can edit their roster by logging in at https://www.playerssports.net/login and clicking "Manage My Team." Once listed on the roster, all players can log in to sign the waiver at https://www.playerssports.net/player/waiver

Sportsmanship
Being competitive on the field is applauded & encouraged in all of our leagues! It is also important to understand that there is a fine line between being competitive & being unsportsmanlike. All players and referees should treat one another with respect on the field & after the game. Everyone has to go to work tomorrow, so please keep safety & sportsmanship in mind out there!

Inclusivity
Every individual participating in a Players Sport & Social Group program may compete as a member of the gender that they identify with, regardless of their gender at birth. We expect all players to be respectful and honor the spirit of this policy. We are LGBTQIA+ friendly (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual and other sexualities and gender identities/expressions).

We have found that open communication between teams is super helpful. If there is a situation that may raise some questions from opposing teams, captains are encouraged to have a quick conversation with our umpire/official before the game to ensure everyone is on the same page. At the end of the day, inclusivity is key.

OVERVIEW
To knock down all ten of your opponent's pins before they knock yours.

PLAY FORMAT
Matches will consist of 3-5 games played to 10 pins. Each match up is played in 15 minute time slots, with time up after 20 minutes of play. If play is ongoing at the 20 minute mark, the team in the lead will win that current game with the most amount of pins standing up.

BEGINNING OF THE GAME
Teams decide who will break first via a game of Rock Paper Scissors. The team who does not break first chooses which side they prefer to play on. Teammates will stand next to each other on the same board. Team A Player #1 throws first. Then, Team B Player #1 throws next. Following, Team A Player #2 will throw. then Team B Player #2 will throw. Continue throwing back and forth until one team has knocked down all 10 of their opponents pins.

One football per/lane.

GAME RULES
-The Field of Play is defined as the area between the end of the boards.

-Men throw from behind the back of the board (Men's Tee), Women throw from behind the front of the board, like Cornhole/Bags (Women's Tee).

-A ball thrown from beyond the Tee (Foot Foul) results in the loss of your turn & any pins that where knocked down must be returned to their upright position.

-All pins that are knocked down need to be cleared from the boards AFTER the ball/pins stop moving. Move the pins behind the board so they are out of the way!

-A pin down is a pin down during game play. *Any non-malicious act that knocks a pin down will COUNT.*

Examples: Accidental knocking of the pins while clearing the board & other balls from active games around your board.

-A maliciously knock down pin will get return to its upright position.

OVERTIME

-If team that throws first knocks down all their pins first, opponent has chance to finish knocking down the rest of their pins in that frame to extend the game.

-Pin setup for overtime: All 10 pins will be reset, team A will have 2 throws and Team B will have 2 throws. The team with the most pins standing will win that current game.

DEFENSE

-Teammates will stand behind board when other team is throwing

-A team may NEVER defend their pins from a ball thrown legally by their opponent. Such actions will result in a Penalty Shot.

-No player may touch the ball or pin(s) such that the action prevents pins from falling while the ball is in the field of play. You must wait to touch the downed pins until the ball/other pins have stopped moving.

-Team may defend their from any outside objects or actions from adjecent games

-Once the football crosses the back or sides of the board you may catch it or grab it. If it bounces behind the board, and bounces back into play, then it is considered LIVE and you cannot touch it until stops moving.

PENALTY SHOT

-Any violation of these rules will result in a pentaly shot by the throwing team. All penalty shots can be thrown halfway in the field of play.

-Any player on the penalty shooting teams can throw regardless of the throwing order

-The team throwing the penalty shot aslo receives the ball back from that throw.

Forfeits
Teams will forfeit their game ten minutes past the designated start time that they do not have the legal amount of players. If ZERO players from a team are present after ten minutes, the team will forfeit all their games for the night. All teams consenting to play a legal game with their opponents having less than the allowed minimum waive their right to a forfeit win. Teams are allowed to pick up players during the regular season in order to field a full team. Substitutes from other teams will not be allowed during playoffs. There are no protests once a match begins. All issues of player eligibility must be addressed with the supervisor before the match starts.
If your team forfeits a match during the season, the following rules apply:

Second Offense:      Loss of all games that date staff reserves the right to remove the team from playoffs with no refund for games not played

Third Offense:          Automatic removal from the league with no refund for games not played.

If you know in advance that your team will be forfeiting a match, we encourage you to call our office so we can let your opponent know that you won’t be showing up

PLAYOFF SEEDING RULES
All leagues that have 12 or more teams will be split into a Flight A & Flight B Playoff Bracket.  At the end of the season all captains are responsible for confirming their team’s end of season team record.  Once playoff brackets are posted and playoff games are played the tournament seeding will not be changed.  If there is an incorrect score posted for your team, the captain is responsible for notifying the league office prior to the playoffs being played.

Great people and great vibes. If you're looking to get out and meet some people while having fun then Players Sports is for you. There are leagues and tournaments for a bunch of different sports. They run them for all skill levels and you get cool shirts if you win. Also a lot of free promos - they give out a lot of drinks and other stuff. Overall, very fun and very friendly environment.

For the last three years, I have been playing indoor and beach volleyball with Players Sport & Social. They are always exceptional and professional. My favorite part of the leagues is the cadence and the different formats that they offer; whether you want to play Rec vs Competitive or 2s vs 6s - they have it all! They also have referees for all of their indoor leagues, and they are prompt to email requests.
