The Luau tournament is in its 18th year and takes place in beautiful Chicago, IL. Soak up both the sun and spectacular views of the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan while you play!
The Luau is Chicago’s largest grass volleyball event for all levels of play and boasts over 2,500 participants. Tournament play begins in the morning with the Bud Light beer truck parked right up on the grass to get the party started! Entry fee for the event includes tournament play, food, beer & a DJ music all day. Spectators are encouraged and welcome to come; a wristband can be purchased and includes all-you-can-eat and drink during the day. Stay tuned for info on the post party!
You must be 21 years old to participate in the event. Rain or shine - no refunds.
Friday North Avenue Beach Tournament Information
Back by popular demand is the Friday Luau Beach Volleyball tournament at the notorious North Avenue Beach! Whether you live in Chicago or are driving in from out of town this is a great opportunity to get the most out of the Luau weekend by playing two days! Your team can hang out at the boathouse on the beach for drinks after the tournament is over. Get your Luau weekend in full gear by heading to the beach on Friday!

The beach tournament will start at 1:00 PM.
Saturday Grass Tournament Information
All teams are guaranteed pool play w/ top teams playing in the championship bracket & bottom teams playing in the consolation bracket.

As in years past, Luau registration is priced on a per player basis, meaning that if you have 3 players for a triple's team, you pay for 3 players, if you have 4 players for a triples team, you pay for 4 players, etc. The 4's & 6's divisions work the same way where you pay per player, NOT per team. Each registrant's fee includes tournament play, breakfast, lunch and beer (10a-5p). Beer will be available for purchase before 10am. Only paying participants/spectators may take part in the tournament and all of the festivities.
Not playing? No problem! Spectator passes are available for purchase and include food and beer throughout the day! Click here to purchase your spectator pass in advance.
Saturday Cornhole/Bags Tournament Information
We have added a Cornhole/Bags Tournament to the Saturday Luau festivities! Now everyone can be a part of the Luau event even if you are not a volleyball player! The tournament includes the bags tournament, all you can eat & drink with cash prizes for the top teams.

Hotel rooms at the Hyatt Regency Downtown are available for Friday & Saturday night at $159/night. It is just one block off of Michigan Avenue (151 E. Wacker).

Please have your ID ready at check-in. No wristband or mug will be given to anyone without a valid ID! Outside alcohol is not permitted and security will be checking coolers at the entrance.
