Sour Grapes?

More like Scour Grates, Squares - every woman and man on Logan's Run is a grill-master. Can you say the same for your team? DIDN'T THINK SO.

Sour Grapes

"We played with at least 30% more Heart than Bad News Squares. Our turnout was 30% better than theirs, and our hearts are 30% larger than theirs."

See Chris, the problem is we had almost 30% more runs than you. But, what do I know? I'm just a hopped-up yuppie blowhard who's team is in first place. Maybe its because we practice as opposed to posting rambling tirades on recreational 16 inch softball forums.

Game 1 Recap: 10 - 4 (L) vs. Bad News Squares

If the first game of the Players Sport & Social Group Summer Softball Season 2013 (PSSGSSS2013), were measured in Heart and not Runs, Logan's Run would have emerged victorious.

Manager Chris K. had this to say about the loss: "We played with at least 30% more Heart than Bad News Squares. Our turnout was 30% better than theirs, and our hearts are 30% larger than theirs."

"We should get that checked out," he added.

In a game that featured key defensive missteps from both teams, heads turned as Logan's Run shortstop Kiersten(?) Essenpreis fielded her position flawlessly, earning the Defensive MVP for the night.

Logan's Run's batting prowess was on display and is sure to only improve. Clean-up hitter (I think, he may have batted 3rd) Eric Marsh was the clear pick for Offensive MVP with a Home Run and (correct me if I'm wrong, here) 3 Runs Batted In.

If these were actual awards, they'd all be equally tall and proud, and one would go to Nads, the Olympian (I believe), who displayed both Heart and Smarts in her debut fielding second-base and accepting an important put-out from star short-stop Kirstin (is it Kirstin?) Essenpreis late in the game. Nads gets our first Natural Award.

And for legging out a run all the way from first base with chutzpah, Andy Stasiulis gets the Legs Award for best baserunning in the game.

Generalissimo Kitahara offered these words in advance of Logan's Run's next game against some other random assortment of hopped-up yuppie blowhards, Wednesday, June 27th : "For us, it's gonna be no more Mr. Nice Guy. This was a scrimmage. The season starts next week. We're going to make some adjustments and play to our strengths [ed. note: and get that doctor friend of Uncle Mort's, the one with the yacht? You remember, we all went out on his yacht that one summer on Hilton Head? Do you _really_ not remember that? Well, him. Dr. Grzlak. We'll get him to check out our weaknesses]."

Great people and great vibes. If you're looking to get out and meet some people while having fun then Players Sports is for you. There are leagues and tournaments for a bunch of different sports. They run them for all skill levels and you get cool shirts if you win. Also a lot of free promos - they give out a lot of drinks and other stuff. Overall, very fun and very friendly environment.

For the last three years, I have been playing indoor and beach volleyball with Players Sport & Social. They are always exceptional and professional. My favorite part of the leagues is the cadence and the different formats that they offer; whether you want to play Rec vs Competitive or 2s vs 6s - they have it all! They also have referees for all of their indoor leagues, and they are prompt to email requests.
